Travel Information

Carpooling System

Flight Arrival/Departure Times

We will be carpooling from the MSP airport to Camp Wapo. We will have a mixture of local leaders assisting with driving as well as renting a couple of large vans. The ideal arrival time for your flight is between 4:30pm-5:30pm. If your plane lands earlier, that just means more time for you to kill at the airport. If your plane lands later than 6:00pm, you are responsible for finding your own transportation to Leader Training.

  • Dinner is on your own - we suggest stopping along the way between the airport and Camp Wapo to grab a bite to eat.

  • Those traveling by car (and not able to help with carpooling) are welcome to drive straight to Camp Wapo.

  • Arrival flights need to arrive before 6:00pm on Sunday, April 7th. Carpools will begin at the airport around 4:30pm. The last carpool will leave around 6:00pm.

  • Departing flights need to leave after 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 10th. All carpools will arrive at the MSP airport around 4:30pm.

  • We will not have mass on Sunday; please be sure to plan accordingly.


Note:
Another group is using Camp Wapo’s facility before us, which limits how early we can arrive to the site. All buildings except for Crossfire and the cafeteria will be available upon our arrival. We cannot get into Crossfire until 8:00pm at the earliest.


  • Please read the travel memo (right) for information on reimbursement policies. Contact Lenore Popp or Brenten McCulloch if you have a unique travel scenario or questions.

  • If you need a ride from and to the airport, you MUST complete this airport ride request by March 10th. Give us your flight info (airline, flight numbers, arrival time, etc.), and we'll set you up with a ride.


Lodging Information

Men’s Accommodations

Men will be staying Anderson Hall, which has a total of twelve rooms. Each room has two bunk beds that consist of three twin beds and one queen bed. In addition, each room has a private bathroom.

Women’s/Family Accommodations

Women and families will be staying Crossfire, which has a total of sixteen rooms. Each room has four bunk beds that consist of seven twin beds and one queen bed. In addition, each room has a private bathroom.

Things to Bring

Apart from the necessities, plan to bring:

  • No need to bring sleeping bags! The facilities will provide basic bedding (sheets, towels, blanket, and pillow).

  • Smart casual clothes for training (jeans and SPO t-shirts okay)

  • Exercise clothes/shoes (recreation and outdoor fellowship)

  • Toiletries

  • Water bottle

  • Bible

  • Snacks are provided, but feel free to bring your own

  • Spring in the Midwest is usually a bit wet and cold, so pack proper footwear and warm clothes
