University of Minnesota Chapter Recognized for Excellence in Evangelization

SPO's Chapter at the University of Minnesota was honored to receive an award for excellence in evangelization from the Catholic Campus Ministry Association (CCMA) at its national convention on May 31st. The convention took place in Bloomington, MN, gathering hundreds of leaders in campus ministry from across the country to talk about how to bring Christ to college students.

The award highlights the fruitful collaboration between SPO and the Brotherhood of Hope, who serve together at the University of Minnesota, as well as on four other campuses around the country: Northeastern University, Rutgers University, Florida State University, and the University of Central Florida.

The partnership at the University of Minnesota began five years ago when Br. Ken Apuzzo was appointed as the Director of Campus Ministry at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Newman Center, and has led to a resurgence of students encountering Christ and coming back to the Church.

Led by Robert Williams and Kayla Lynch, the University of Minnesota Chapter will have five Households in 2018-19 and is looking forward to another year of impacting over a thousand students with the transformative power of the Gospel!
