Benefit Banquet Provides Hope, Inspiration
On the evening of Tuesday, March 4, almost 600 people gathered in Bloomington, MN, to celebrate the fruits of the SPO ministry in Minnesota. From the opening comments by SPO alumni Bishop Andrew Cozzens to moving testimonies from Student Missionaries Kevin Hannasch and Sarah Hebel, the evening was truly one of hope, inspiration, and witness to the Good News!
The annual Minnesota Benefit Banquet is the Minnesota Mission Center's largest fundraising event of the year, uniting current Missionaries with SPO alumni, key archdiocesan representatives, benefactors, business owners, and friends of SPO. Throughout the evening, attendees were given the opportunity to learn about each stage of the Saint Paul's Outreach evangelization strategy; it is through these four stages that Saint Paul's Outreach Missionaries are able to successfully keep Catholic Faith Alive on Campus.
As Bishop Andrew Cozzens explained to attendees during his opening remarks, "SPO can go where you and I cannot." It is because of the generosity of individuals that SPO has the resources needed to reach these college students effectively. We are so very grateful to all who partner with us in our ministry, and enjoyed celebrating the fruits of our ministry with you! Thanks to your support, we are able to reach more young people, call them to embrace the faith, form them to maturity, and send them out as leaders in the Church and the world. We could not imagine a more important or rewarding responsibility.
On behalf of the students, staff, and missionaries of Saint Paul's Outreach, thank you to everyone who made this banquet a special evening. We hope you enjoyed the evening and look forward to seeing you again at next year's banquet on Mardi Gras Tuesday, February 17, 2015! You remain in our daily prayers of gratitude.
