On September 19, 2013, Saint Paul's Outreach New Jersey hosted the second talk of the three week series, "New Rules for Love, Sex, and Dating." Over 100 students showed up, many of whom returned after first experiencing last week's talk. Peter DeMarais (Seton Hall's Chapter Director) and Becca Shrake (NJ Mission Leader) spoke about the importance of relationships and the joy of living counter-cultural to today's society. They spoke about the importance of masculinity and femininity, and how beautifully the two complement each other. Becca and Peter also spoke about daily practices that can hinder young people from "becoming the person that the person they want to be with wants them to be" (which is much better explained in the talk!).
The New Rules for Love, Sex, and Dating is part of a nation-wide series that challenges students to not settle in their relationships and to uphold their dignity and personal respect. The New Rules for Love, Sex, and Dating reveals the standards to which God is calling young people to live by. This series challenges men and women to change how they think about the opposite sex, prepares men and women to one day say ‘I do’ and mean it, and reveals common myths about sex in college.
