On September 12, 2016, Bishop Frederick Campbell joined Saint Paul's Outreach students, staff, and guests for a special reception for the dedication of SPO’s new Women’s House. This house, located at 90 E 12th Ave, shares an alley with Antioch, the SPO Men’s House dedicated in September 2014. The location for this house is perfect, just steps from the Ohio Union in the heart of the off-campus student culture. We spent the summer renovating this house in order to open up spaces for hosting various types of evangelistic programming, from small group Bible Studies and leadership team meetings to large group presentations and social events, and to create a second living space to be able to house two households under one roof. The incredible location and layout of the house have already played a key role in numerous successful events in just these first weeks of school, and we look forward to witnessing how God will continue to bless our efforts to expand SPO’s impact at OSU!
Each Ohio Household has a name, and we are excited to share that we have named this new Household “Siena” in honor of St. Catharine of Siena. “Be who God intended you to be and you will set the world ablaze,” is one of her most famous quotes and perfectly describes the mission of SPO on campus. This house will serve as a place for women to come to know God and his plan for their life and to set the their lives ablaze. We are excited to have a second house in this critical area of campus. Please join us in praying that we will follow in the footsteps of St. Catharine of Siena as we work to set the Ohio State campus ablaze with the love of Christ.
We are tremendously grateful for all those who have partnered in this project to help realize this dream, and look forward to the countless opportunities that it will open up to bring the love and mercy of Jesus to students at OSU.
