Jazlyn grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota, where the high school mascot is a potato, so you know it was rough from the start….
Totally kidding - Moorhead is a splendid town. Jazlyn was raised by incredible parents, Ben and Lisa, along with two siblings. She was the definition of a middle child, but thrived in her role by challenging her parents with her unique personality and loud voice. Her home parish, St. Joe’s, was where she first started growing in faith. In high school she had the opportunity to teach Sunday school to preschoolers, which skyrocketed her love of working alongside the church.
After high school Jazlyn attended the University of Minnesota for a degree in Child Psychology. While in college she overwhelmed her schedule with endless opportunities and could often be found running around campus like a chicken with its head cut off, doing anything from having a one on-one with another woman at a quiet coffee shop to tap dancing in the streets of downtown Minneapolis.
Jazlyn didn’t find SPO; SPO found her, and from then on she felt as if she was the chosen one (kind of like Harry Potter). She was first involved in a small group her sophomore year and owes the tremendous growth in her faith to these women who continually showed her the Lord’s love and perseverance. When they say it takes an army, they mean it. These women continually pushed her to try new things, step up in leadership, and go outside of her comfort zone. For the first time, Jazlyn experienced a personal relationship with the Lord her sophomore year while attending a Fan into Flame retreat. From there, her relationship with Christ and love for the Catholic faith grew and she has never looked back.
Jazlyn will be serving at The Ohio State University and is thrilled to go even further outside of her comfort zone. She is particularly excited to serve the women in Ohio and show them the love Christ has for them, the way the SPO Mission Leaders at the UofM showed her. If she had to summarize her three loves in life it would be Jesus, women/sisterhood, and taco hats. Jazlyn is thrilled to bring each of these to Ohio with her.
Title: Mission Leader

Jona grew up on a hobby farm in rural Minnesota with her older sister and parents. Her love of nature was fostered through summers running around their farm and summers spent in Alaska as a deckhand through her college years. Jona graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Natural Resources Management from North Dakota State University.
Before she felt called to be a mission leader with Saint Paul’s Outreach, Jona was working as an environmental scientist for an engineering consulting firm in Bismarck, ND. After being asked by a friend if she had ever thought of being a missionary, Jona prayerfully consider her call to serve on college campuses as a missionary. Though she loved her job she knew God was calling her to serve His kingdom in a radical way. Jona is excited to serve her first year with SPO at The Ohio State University this fall.
Jona loves bringing others closer to Christ through the building-up of authentic community. Some of her favorite ways to build community are through her love for swing dancing, swimming, biking, and sharing a good cup of coffee. Prayers for Jona as she ventures into her first year as mission leader would be very much appreciated!
Emily grew up in New York and made the big transition to the Midwest when she moved to Columbus for college at Ohio State. She didn’t have any faith growing up, but in God’s perfect timing, she came to have a personal encounter with Jesus her freshman year and entered the Catholic Church her sophomore year. Now she is so excited to embark on this journey as a missionary to invite other students into the freedom and joy that she has found in a Christ-filled life.
She loves spending quality time with others through hiking adventurous trails, meeting new people, exploring hipster coffee shops, playing guitar, reading books aloud with friends, and most of all, sharing in the hearts of women while sitting on the porch. She is so excited to be living in Ohio for another year and to be serving on the campus where she came to know Christ herself, and to share in another Ohio State football season (Go Bucks!). Please pray for her and the men and women that she will encounter this year, that Christ would be made known on this campus and the Holy Spirit would work powerfully in this time!
Emily grew up in small town in northwest Ohio, and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in elementary education and vocal music. Although Emily grew up with a family rooted in the Catholic faith, when she arrived on campus her freshman year the Catholic faith was suddenly something that required a choice. She chose to ask the big questions and became involved with the Catholic community on campus. It was through her sister, Gina, that Emily was introduced to Saint Paul’s Outreach. Through Saint Paul's Outreach, Emily experienced the power of the Holy Spirit alive in God’s people and came to invite the Lord to work in her life even more deeply and more boldly. You might know that if you give the Lord an inch He may take a mile! Emily is thrilled to be working full time with SPO for her second year, building the Kingdom particularly though serving the students at THE Ohio State University.
Emily loves her family and friends, and takes joy in spending time with them over games, meals, and celebrations. She loves to run, read, bake, hike, and dig in the dirt. Emily has lived in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Germany, and is happy to be living in Ohio once again, this time serving with SPO.
Joe hails from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, where he is the middle child in a family of seven children - including younger brother Martin! A recent graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in civil engineering, Joe was blessed to become involved with Saint Paul's Outreach New Jersey his freshman year, and promptly moved into Household his sophomore year. A huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, Joe loves playing sports - especially basketball - and can also be found playing guitar, hiking, camping, working with his hands, and talking to anyone and everyone about anything and everything. He is excited to get out on campus and spread the gospel, and feels specifically charged with raising up young men to be leaders and live passionately.

Dalton grew up in Wisconsin and is part of a loving family. In his teen years he encountered Christ while on a charismatic mission trip to Mexico City with his Mother and several other missionaries. Since then Dalton has been called to serve God by serving His people, first through being a peer leader in his High School youth ministry, then through being a volunteer youth minister while in college at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and now currently serving as a missionary with Saint Paul's Outreach.
Now in his 3rd year of service with SPO, Dalton is excited to lead men closer to God and to help them experience what true brotherhood looks like. As a man of many interests he looks for any way he can connect with others on campus. As Saint Paul once said, "I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some" (1 Corinthians 9:22). He hopes that he can do the same this year at The Ohio State. Go Bucks!
