Lauren is a Florida girl through and through. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Environmental Studies and English, but recently traded in her flip-flops for snow boots and moved to the great state of New Jersey to serve at Rutgers University.
Lauren encountered the Lord for the first time in high school, and converted to Catholicism during her junior year. Going into college, she was immediately drawn to the vibrant community of the Catholic Student Union at Florida State, run by the Brotherhood of Hope. She truly encountered the love of Christ during college through mission leaders and fellow students, and knew there was only one way to respond to that: by giving back, because “We love because he first loved us,” (1 John 4:19).
Some of Lauren's favorite things to do are drink coffee, pet dogs, read, and enjoy musical theater. Of course, she finds that all of these things are more fun to do with friends!
Lauren is so excited to enter into another year of mission at Rutgers, and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for her and the incredible community of college students there in the coming school year - He always has a new adventure around every bend!
“See, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? In the wilderness I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers.” - Isaiah 43:19
