Why I became an SPO Missionary

In short: I was lost, and Jesus found me! The truth is: He has the same burning love and urgency to meet every. single. soul. and to draw them to Himself. When I was a senior in college at Franciscan University (seven years ago!), a desire to have God's heart for His people was kindled in me. I decided that after graduating, I wanted to serve the Church as a missionary, so that everyone I meet would come to know just how much He loves them. Soon after - I found out about Saint Paul's Outreach (SPO), visited an SPO Household and the Formation Program, and was amazed by the way I witnessed young people living and loving like they believed God was REAL and that they knew Him - the rest is history! I'm excited to step into my seventh year serving with SPO supporting the Florida Region as a Mission Supervisor.

Favorite Saint Quote

“It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle.

It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.”
