Why I became an SPO Missionary

After college, back in 2011-2013 I was very lonely and felt the lack of community in my life. I had a prayer life and family and friends, but was missing this greater call to share a life of faith with others. In 2012 I was exposed to a tiny bit of the authentic relationships that SPO had to offer. My cousin was an SPO Missionary at the time and the spring of 2013 invited me to apply to be a Missionary. When we spoke about it, my heart was ON FIRE with the Holy Spirit. I knew this was His call and invitation for me. Before this call, my heart was already longing for service, deeper relationships, and growing in my faith. When I graduated college in 2011, my dream was to work with students, on a college campus, and be able to incorporate my faith into my work. God had heard my heart and answered it tenfold. Through working for SPO, I have discovered more about Him, myself, and grown in relationship with so many men and women who share a desire for more than just a lukewarm faith.
